When I pick the fabric and begin the design process for these bags, I always try to envision what they would look like in the real word. I want to create the things I want to see exist -- sometimes taking inspiration from what I've seen before but oftentimes I am working with fabric I've never seen made into bags. I'm not trying to tout myself as some creative genius but it's true! A lot of the fabrics and textures I use were meant for outdoor furniture, drapery or upholstery. That's what makes these bags unique and unconventional. As this bag was coming together, I realized it was going to be a special piece. I had to make sure the little bird and that blooming flower on the left, above the pocket were the main stars. I truly love this bag so much. I might have to make another for myself.
